Meet the 6th Grade ABS

About Jess Kelly, 6th Grade ABS

It is a pleasure to be serving as an Academic & Behavior Specialist for the second year! Along with leading our Special Education Department, the role of ABS fills my cup each day by connecting with students and their families on a daily basis — ensuring all students in our care feel safe, supported, and have a sense of belonging within our school. 

Originally from Pittsburgh PA and a proud graduate of Slippery Rock University with undergraduate degrees in Special Education and Elementary Education, I moved to Arizona in 2012 and began my teaching journey in Cartwright School District as a middle school math teacher. My career then took me to Higley School District and New Way Academy, a private school focused on serving students with learning differences. In 2016 and 2018, I received my graduate degrees in Educational Leadership and Applied Behavior Analysis from ASU. This will be my fifth year within Kyrene, and I feel like I’ve truly found my forever work home! 

Outside of school, I spend my time with my husband, three kids, and bulldog. We enjoy going to sporting events, working out, and eating at local restaurants.
